About Gia Hung

I'm a final-year Information Technology student at the University of Technology Sydney with a strong interest in data analytics and problem solving. I have hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel and Python through academic and personal projects. I am currently seeking an entry-level Data Analyst role or internship where I can apply my analytical skills to real-world data problems.

Analyzed CRM sales data to evaluate quarterly performance, identifying performance gaps between top and low-performing sales agents. Built interactive Power BI dashboards using SQL and DAX, revealing over 2,000 stalled sales opportunities impacting revenue forecasting. Identified key revenue-driving products, supporting product and sales strategy decisions.

Australian International Trade: Visual Analytics

Analyzed 35+ years (1988–2024) of Australian import and export data from the ABS to identify long-term trade trends across 10 major product categories. Built interactive Tableau dashboards and storyboards, revealing Australia’s strong reliance on resource exports and machinery imports. Identified key trade patterns and forecasts, supporting strategic insights.

Kaggle: SMS Spam Detection

Built an SMS spam detection model using Bidirectional LSTM with Attention, achieving 97% classification accuracy on the SMS Spam Collection dataset. Preprocessed and analyzed 5,500+ SMS messages, applying tokenization, padding, and text normalization to improve model generalization. Evaluated model performance using appropriate metrics.
